Where is the Democratic leadership and the Democratic Party of the common good, the general welfare, we the people, the New Deal, the New Frontier, the Great Society in the 21st century?

Gertrude Stein once wrote: "There is no there there." when she couldn't find her childhood home.  

It describes President Obama: There is no real Democrat there.....Obama's administration: There are no real Democrats there......the Dems in Congress: There are few real Democrats there.....and the DNC: There are no real Democrats there.

Marshall Auerbach New Deal 2.0 shares these observations:

"A recent New York Times piece finds rays of hope in the exit of several of Obama’s economic gurus: “Remake of Obama’s Economic Team Broadens Scope.” I don’t see any evidence of “broadening”. The names change, but all of the proposed candidates are still drawn from the same poisonous Rubinite well. I may be “broadening the scope” of the items in my bathroom by changing toilet paper rolls, but at the end of the day, they all still deal with crap.

"And as far as the Obama plan to freeze pay for federal employees, it’s Clinton Redux: triangulation which will lead to the strangulation of his presidency (along with the hundreds of thousands of incomes he is squeezing through this action)."

"That’s right, the organizing project of the Democratic National Committee wants you to organize in support of freezing public worker salaries.

"And don’t worry, later in the email, OFA tells you how the Administration has really been responsible on this issue – they’ve frozen salaries of White House officials and political appointees, froze non-defense discretionary spending, and more.

"So go out there and sharpen those pencils and tell everyone how great it is to cut people’s pay!"

The "Clinton-Obama" Democratic Party: there are no real Democrats there.
