GOP Anti-Common Good Lemmings Still Give Worst President Ever a 75% Approval Rating
| I've written about the GOP being the anti-Constitution, anti-common good, anti-working people, anti-human rights, anti-civil rights, anti-rule of law party. A recent Gallup poll shows this startling but not surprising reality about Republicans. From Daily Kos: "Bush mainly has members of his own party to thank for the fact that he is ending his presidency with an approval rating above 30%. Republicans' approval of him rose from 67% in mid-December to 75% in the current poll -- their highest rating of Bush in nearly a year. By contrast, approval of Bush remains extremely scarce among Democrats, and continues to fall under 30% among independents." That Bush is a war criminal torturer, wiretapped Americans without warrants, preemptively invaded Iraq based on lies, and committed so many other crimes and misdemeanors that he should have been impeached and in the slammer, makes no difference to these Republican lemmings. It's sad and frightening to think that in this constitutional, democratic republic these ignorant, delusional Republicans (and some of the corporate mainstream media) would unquestioningly support and try and stifle any dissent of a right wing, totalitarian dictatorship like the one Dubya almost succeeded in creating in the US these last eight years. |
