Bush Admits Authorizing Torture and Now Flunky DNI Defender, Mike McConnell, to "Counsel" Obama
Torture is a crime. Torture is a war crime. The United States executed Japanese who waterboarded American prisoners of war.
Now Dubya himself admitted that he personally authorized torture. Ergo, George W. Bush committed a crime, a war crime.
As Jonathan Turley points out to Rachel Maddow, if the Obama administration back pedals and refuses to hold the criminal Bush regime accountable for war crimes with the lame excuse of looking forward, then other countries that consider Bush regime members war criminals for their use of torture, will shame the US and its inexcusable act of ignoring war cimies by government officials, by doing the job in spite of the US.
By the way, what's with Obama appointing Mike McConnell, the Bushite Director of National Intelligence, to his Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. Is Obama seriously cutting off his nose to spite his face? McConnell was a Bush defender of extraordinary rendition and blatant violations of human and civil rights and lying to Congress.
Does Obama really want this dishonest and dishonorable man to "continue to offer his counsel" as a member of the Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board, in the questionable name of "bi-partisanship"?
Unfortunately, that speaks volumes about judgment and integrity.
