Racist GOP Foot Solider In Florida Now Racist GOP Secretary of State in Indiana

Racism is alive and well in the Republican Party.  It has been rampant at McSame and Palin the Parrot rallies where the candidates did their part to incite the racists and bigots among their supporters.

But it is also a characteristic of Republican elected officials who, rather than appeal to the better angels of the electorate, deliberately instigate hatred and fear.

One of these despicable officials is the Republican Secretary of State in Indiana, Todd Rokita, who is a part of the Republican nationwide voter suppression tactic in his state.

As TPM Muckraker reports: "Todd Rokita -- the Indiana secretary of state who wants ACORN prosecuted for voter fraud -- may be the gift that keeps on giving.

"Earlier today, we reported that Rokita, a Republican, has said he's proud that he was part of the team of GOP activists that descended on Florida and pulled out all the stops to block the 2000 recount and put George Bush in the White House.

"Now, a reader points us to this 2007 Associated Press story, which reports:

During a speech Thursday at a Republican event, Todd Rokita said 90 percent of blacks vote for Democrats.

"How can that be?" Rokita said. "Ninety to ten. Who's the master and who's the slave in that relationship? How can that be
healthy?"

"So:
- Committed GOP partisan -- check.
- History of racially insensitive comments -- check.

"Sounds like just the guy to be running a close election in a year when the first major-party African-American candidate is on the ballot."

Also, as TPM reports, the racist Rokita was "one of the foot soldiers credited with shutting down the Florida recount."

These anti-Constitution Republican flunkies like Mr. Rokita who played a reprehensible, anti-American role in the 2000 election debacle that saw the Supreme Court install Bush as king, seemed to have found positions where they can still do damage to their state and country.

But what can you expect in a state with criminal Bush regime flunky, Mitch Daniels, as the governor, known as "Governor Privatize " and his privatization boondoggles, failures that mirror the worst budget deterioration in US history while he was director of the White House OMB.

What were the voters of Indiana thinking electing a racist as Secretary of State and the most fiscally irresponsible Republican official in American history as governor?
