Background on US Policy on Russia-Georgia Conflict and Ceasefire

Amid the Russia-Georgia conflict and cease-fire Pepe Escobar at The Real News (via Cursor.org) offers a report on the US and a policy called full spectrum dominance.

It is an interesting background piece which includes the disintegration of the former Soviet Union, statements by Mikhail Gorbachev about the US and the West reneging on their agreements, the policies of Bush One, Clinton administration members, Albright, Holbrooke, and Carter hand, now Obama adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski, and his insistence on the global importance of Eurasia.

While I don't agree with the part about Richard Holbrooke being a key Clinton player in the fragmentation of the Balkans (which is a real stretch and I'm not a Holbrooke fan by any means) it is a fascinating report.  Its a worthwhile seven minutes of viewing here.
