Bush Loyalists Poster Boys Complicit In Iraq Debacle

Dubya awarded the Medal of Freedom to his sycophantic , yes men, Tommy FranksGeorge Tenet and L. Paul Bremer.  If ever there were three undeserving, dishonorable individuals whose names will be forever linked with the Iraq debacle it will be these three Bushite loyalist minions who were complicit in deceiving the American people in order for the Bush invasion and occupation of Iraq to proceed based on lies.

The Bush regime and its loyalists, Franks, Tenet and Bremer, are the antithesis of what America stands for; they are the poster boys of dishonor and deceit in service to an imperialist, authoritarian regime.

As Robert Parrry wrote at Consortium News"On Dec. 14, [2004] Bush gave Medals of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, to former CIA Director George Tenet, who gave Bush the false intelligence on Iraq's WMD to justify the war; to retired Gen. Tommy Franks, who agreed to divert troops from chasing al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden to Bush's other priority of invading Iraq; and to former Iraq administrator Paul Bremer, who presided over the chaotic U.S. occupation made worse by the administration's decision to disband the Iraqi army."

And Gareth Porter at IPS writes: "Journalist Ron Suskind's revelation that Saddam Hussein's intelligence chief was a prewar intelligence source reporting to the British that Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction (WMD) adds yet another dimension to the systematic effort by then Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director George Tenet to quash any evidence -- no matter how credible -- that conflicted with the George W. Bush administration's propaganda line that Saddam was actively pursuing a nuclear weapons programme.

"Tenet -- who was a political operator rather than an intelligence professional -- had betrayed the CIA's mission of providing objective analysis, instead choosing to serve the interests of the Bush administration in preparing the way for war. It is not difficult to imagine how he would have meekly carried out whatever was asked of him by the White House -- even forging a document and leaking it to the media, to buttress the administration's case for war."

With the torture loving, anti-human rights, anti-Constitution Bush regime, and Bushite loyalists such as these three, no wonder the US's reputation in the world has sunk to its lowest point.
