Two Democratic Senators Are Talking Heads Failures

Why are Democrats in Congress so clueless?  Today there appeared on talking heads, which I only have the stomach to watch occasionally because I suffer fools badly, two classic examples of Democrats who fail to make their case about government of, by and for the people, communicate very badly or fail to communicate at all.

On Late Edition with Wolfe Blitzer, Senator Chris Dodd made the statement that 8,000 to 9,000 people a day are "asking" for foreclosures.  That was terribly erroneous. It is the greedy subprime mortgage lending institutions which caused this housing crisis and economic meltdown by perpetrating fraud against homeowners that are foreclosing on the houses; the homeowners being foreclosed against didn't ask for it.

Not only did Dodd, who received a special "friend of Angelo's" mortgage rate from Countrywide Mortgage's head honcho, Angelo Mozilo, who should be in the slammer for scamming and defrauding ordinary American mortgage borrowers, stumbled badly on this, but he left an opening for Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ), the other guest, to parrot the Republican mantra that Democrats would raise taxes, implying that all Americans would have their taxes raised, which is a lie.

Meanwhile, on Press the Meat, Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO), who despicably voted for the FISA bill and trampled the Constitution's Fourth Amendment while giving criminal telecoms immunity, shared the spotlight with McCain's mouthpiece Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

Here was a perfect opportunity to tell the American people that Carly Fiorina was the poster girl for McBush's corporate friendly economic policy, the hell with hardworking, regular Americans.  As HP's CEO, Fiorina offshored and outsourced American jobs.  In fact, one of the first things Fiorina did as CEO was cut 15,000 jobs at Hewlett-Packard. McCaskill should have told the viewers that this suggested that Fioriana's boss, McBush would continue sending American jobs overseas during a Bush third term.  In addition, Fiorina's severance agreement gave her $21 million in cash which was 2.5 times her base salary, a truly golden parachute, according to the ECommerce Times, February 14, 2005.

But McCaskill didn't do any of that.  So, Carly Fiorina prattled on with her prevaricating Republican talking points and most of the viewers were left unaware of her terrible record regarding American jobs and disdain for working people.

What a piss poor spokesperson for the Democratic Party!  McCaskill is definitely not VP material by a long shot.

What the hell is wrong with Dodd and McCaskill?  Don't they understand the issues?  Or are they deliberately clueless?   With Democrats like these screwing up on the inside the beltway talking heads' programs, who needs enemies?
