McCain Consistently Voted Against Women, Why Would Any Woman Vote For Him?

Why would any self-respecting woman vote for J. Sid McBush?  He consistently votes against women.  His voting record shows he doesn't believe in equal pay for equal work.

He has no conception of the problems of working women who support their families and receive less money than their male countreparts for doing an equal job.

McHypocrite's only point of reference is Carly Fiorina, former head of Hewlett Packard who eliminated 15,000 American jobs and received millions in salary and compensation and his wife, Cindy, who inherited multi-millions of dollars from her father and his beer distributorship which she owns.

McBush has a terrible record on women's issues, yet he has the arrogance to stand up and face a audience of women and lie in their faces.  But the worst part: he wasn't called out on it by any of those women.

From ThinkProgress' WonK Room"At a town hall today, McCain said his record shows that he is “committed to making sure that there’s equal pay for equal work” for women:

We haven’t done enough. We have not done enough. And I’m committed to making sure that there’s equal pay for equal work. That there is equal opportunity in every aspect of our society. And that is my record and you can count on it.

"Nothing could be further from the truth: McCain has consistently opposed efforts to guarantee women equal pay for equal work – and he has the record to prove it.

In April, McCain opposed a major Senate bill seeking equal pay for women. He told an audience in Kentucky that the real issue is disparities in education and training among women and men.

"In 2000, McCain opposed an amendment that aimed to “provide more effective remedies to victims of discrimination in the payment of wages on the basis of sex.”

"In 1985, McCain voted against a study to investigate pay differences among federal employees, and determine whether they were the result of discrimination. [1985 CQ Almanac; HR 3008, vote # 318, 10/9/85]

"In fact, McCain’s record proves that for decades, he has opposed efforts to make sure that women receive equal pay for equal work."

McBush's voting record also shows he doesn't believe in a woman's right to make her own reporductive decisions and have control over her own body

Agian, from ThinkProgress' Wonk Room"Earlier, ThinkProgress noted Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) nervous reply to a question about why his top adviser erroneously suggested that he supported requiring insurance companies to cover prescription birth control. Looking confused, McCain replied:

I’ll look at my voting record on it … I’ll be glad to look at it and get back to you as to why … I don’t know enough about it to give you an informed answer because I don’t recall the vote, I’ve cast thousands of votes in the Senate.

"Don’t expect McCain to “get back to you” anytime soon. In 2007, McCain similarly admitted to reporters that he was “not informed” about “whether I support government funding for them [contraceptives] or not,” and promised to “find out.” In the same interview McCain also expressed doubts about the effectiveness of condoms:

More questions: Do condoms stop sexually transmitted disease?

A long pause.

A stern look.

I’ve never gotten into these issues or thought much about them,” he said, almost crying uncle.

"McCain’s unfamiliarity with contraceptives has caused him to support regressive reproductive policies. McCain voted against requiring insurance companies to cover prescription contraception in both 2003 and 2005 and has consistently opposed expanding access to contraception. In fact, according to NARAL, McCain “has never cosponsored or supported legislation that wouldprevent unintended pregnancy or reduce the need for abortion“:

- Voted to “terminate the Title X family-planning program, which provides millions of women with health care services ranging from birth control to breast cancer screenings.”

- Voted in favor of “the domestic gag rule, which would have prohibited federally funded family-planning clinics from providing women with access to full information about their reproductive-health options.”

- Voted for an “amendment to prohibit distribution of condoms, contraceptives or drugs financed by federal aid without parental consent.”

- Voted to establish an “abstinence-only” program “that censors information about birth control.”

Given John Sidney McSame's consistent anti-women voting record, why would any women vote for him and against herself?
