Will Bush arrogantly try to take Maliki to the woodshed for his Iran visit?
Is Bush going to denounce Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri Maliki as an appeaser for talking to Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? So far, nothing but silence from Dubya the ignorant blackmailer.
From the NYTimes last month: "President Bush used a speech to the Israeli Parliament on Thursday to denounce those who would negotiate with “terrorists and radicals” — a remark that was widely interpreted as a rebuke to Senator Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential contender, who has argued that the United States should talk directly with countries like Iran and Syria.
"In a lengthy speech intended to promote the strong alliance between the United States and Israel, the president invoked the emotionally volatile imagery of World War II to make the case that talking to extremists was no different than appeasing Hitler and the Nazis."
Bush, intelligence challenged, doesn't even know the meaning of appeasement.
As I wrote in one of my postings last month: "Neville Chamberlain is termed by history as an appeaser, not because he talked with Hitler, but because he signed the 1938 Munich Agreement, an appeasement document which "gave" Hitler part of then Czechoslovakia, a sovereign nation not Chamberlain's to give, in exchange for a phony peace with England."
According to the BBC: "The role of the US in Iraq is high on the agenda, with Tehran concerned about a treaty under discussion on the terms of the US military's future in Iraq.
"Iran's alleged backing for militants in Iraq was also expected to be discussed.
" 'We will not allow Iraq to become a platform for harming the security of Iran and neighbours,' Iranian state-run media quoted Mr Maliki as saying after late-night talks with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
"In his talks with Mr Ahmadinejad, Iranian media quoted Mr Maliki as saying: 'A stable Iraq will be a benefit to the security of the region and the world.'
"Mr Ahmadinejad told Mr Maliki: 'Iraq's neighbours have more responsibility to help the country to establish peace and security.'
"Without referring directly to the US-Iraqi deal, Mr Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying: 'Iraq must reach a certain level of stability so that its enemies are not able to impose their influence.' "
Maybe Bush will stay silent about Maliki's visit to Iran after all, he's already blackmailing Iraq to sign the long term security agreement to keep US troops in that sinkhole forever, bypassing Congress, against the authority of the majority of the Iraqi parliament, and the wishes of the majority of the Iraqi and American people
