Workers Die in Another Crane Collapse in NYC; This Manslaugher Must Stop

Not again....more workers' deaths in second construction crane failure in New York City in two months.

Just Wednesday, in a post titled, "Corporate CEO's Should Spend Time in the Slammer for Causing Workers' Deaths" I wrote this: "I have written many times about the neglect of workers' safety and workers' deaths under Republican administrations, especially the worst ever in American history, this Bush regime.

"Here are just a few excerpts: 'Meanwhile, corporate greed and the Bush administration, which protects and supports big business first and always, and results in Dubya's intentionally deregulated, ineffective or no oversight, politicized regulatory agencies, continue killing American workers.'

"The Bush administration resembles administrations in the era of robber barons in the 19th century and early 20th century when workers safety didn't exist and workers were treated as commodities.  This is the 21st century repetition by the worst administration ever."

"It's past time that CEO's and other corporate honchos should be held accountable, that is prosecuted, for ignoring or neglecting workers' safety and defying federal laws with impunity that result in workers' deaths because they only get a slap on the wrist.

"Workers are not a commodity; their on the job safety is required by federal law."

This corporate manslaughter of workers must stop.  Those running these companies must be held accountable for these deaths and not get off with just a fine. Significant jail time should be a part of these CEO's future.
