McHypocrite's Campaign Overflows With Lobbyists and Scandal

John Sidney McHypocrite's campaign is overflowing with lobbyists.  Now that these lobbyist cow pies are starting to hit the fan, more Americans are aware of this particular McBush stink.

There were the recent resignations of McCainite lobbyists who worked for his campaign and whose lobbying firm represented, Myanmar's (Burma) bloody military regime.

Then yesterday came the scandal of former Senator Phil Gramm and the McCain campaign as ThinkProgress reports.

"Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has repeatedly said he relies on his economic advisers, including former senator Phil Gramm — “McCain’s econ brain” — to make up for his lack of experience on economic issues. “I would rely on the circle that I have developed over many years of people like…Phil Gramm,” he said in February.

"But yesterday evening, MSNBC revealed that Gramm worked for the bank UBS “to
lobby Congress about the U.S. mortgage crisis at the same time he was advising McCain” about economic policies. The revelations come as McCain banned several advisers from advising him on subjects covered by their lobbying work.

"While Gramm was advising McCain, he was paid by UBS to lobby the Senate about the mortgage crisis, strongly opposing increased government regulation and several consumer protection bills, which, as Keith Olbermann noted, “might have mitigated the current crisis.

Then there is this gem from Jonathan Stein at Mother Jones: "On his campaign website, McCain declares that he "has fought the 'revolving door' by which lawmakers and other influential officials leave their posts and become lobbyists for the special interests they have aided." Yet, McCain's offices have been part of the revolving door culture.

"The records show that since the Keating Five scandal, which by McCain's own account turned the Arizona senator into a crusader for reform, at least 20 McCain staffers—working for McCain's personal Senate office or for one of the committees he has chaired—either came to McCain's employ from a lobby shop or joined one after leaving the congressional payroll.

"But McCain has a special lobbyist problem. It's not just that his presidential campaign has been managed by former lobbyists for corporations and foreign governments. (Though several lobbyists have recently left his campaign, McCain's two closest aides—Charlie Black and Rick Davis—used to be top-tier lobbyists.) McCain has surrounded himself with lobbyists and lobbyists-to-be, all while positioning himself as the revolving door's top critic. McCain vows that if he's elected he'll change the revolving door culture of Washington. But if he can't do so in his own outfit, how can he do so for the entire town?

John Sidney McBush: hypocrite and liar; unfit for the presidency.
