Bushite Pentagon To Outsource Iraq Military Training To Mercenary War Profiteers
Bush's failed Iraq sinkhole sinks even further.
According to Walter Pincus at the Washington Post, "U.S. commanders in Iraq are for the first time seeking private contractors to form part of the small military teams that train and live with Iraqi military units across the country, according to a notice for prospective bidders published last week.
"The solicitation, issued by the Joint Contracting Command in Baghdad, says the individuals that a contractor recruits -- who would include former members of the U.S. Special Forces and ex-Iraqi army officers -- will be trained in the United States with military transition teams (MiTTs) and shipped as a single team to Iraq. The recruits will live on Iraqi military bases "under Iraqi living conditions and participate with MiTT special operations and convoy duties," the solicitation says."
Obviously, into the sixth year of US occupation in Iraq, Bush's cornerstone Iraq policy of "When Iraqis stand up, we'll stand down" has officially bitten the dust as Bush's politicized Pentagon, which was tasked with training Iraq troops, has given up the job or will be working in tandem with these mercenary contingents creating even more horror and chaos.
The Bush administration is determined to completely ruin the integrity of the US Army.
General David Petraeus was supposed to implement that policy but as I wrote recently, "Petraeus has already established a record of failure as a senior commander in Iraq.
"A few years ago, Petraeus failed to turn Iraq's so called new army into a fighting force and was either incompetent or complicit in also failing to note that the Iraq procurement budget was being embezzled to the tune of $1.2 billion resulting in obsolete or inferior weapons for the Iraq army he was in charge of training."
The Bushite Pentagon plans to hand this task to private mercenary companies, that already are under the cloud of committing crimes in Iraq and defrauding the American taxpayers, so now, courtesy of Bush's flunkies in the US Army, these Bush corporate crony mercenary war profiteers can continue their criminal activities with impunity.
Iraqi troops have already run from battle and many US military training advisers were giving frustrating reports about the lack of Iraqi troop progress long before to the Basra debacle.
Bush's politicized Pentagon plans to resoundingly snatch more defeat from the current Iraq catastrophe by making a terrible situation worse. It would be laughable if it weren't so pathetic and tragic.
By the way, McUnpatriotic doesn't support Senator Jim Webb's GI bill because it would harm retention in the military. But McBush also refused to support Webb's bill to ensure adequate time at home for troops between deployments. McCain is such a hypocritical putz!
However, McSilent hasn't said a word about this latest Bushite bungle of American taxpayers funding of mercenary war profiteering companies to train Iraqis.
Wonder what kind of stupid explanation that he must typically re-explain will he utter this time, or will there be a deafening, shameful silence as there was from McHypocrite when the 4,000th soldier was killed in Iraq?
