It Once Was And Can Be A Wonderful Life Again

As a another year of the Bush imperial presidency draws to a close, the deadliest year for US troops in Iraq because of King George the Lesser's pre-emptive invasion and occupation; regular Americans at home struggle with stagnant wages, jobs lost offshore, unaffordable health care, housing foreclosures and other domestic debacles during this tyrannical presidential administration, there are occasional bright spots about what once was and could be again.

One of these is an interesting article by Julian Delasantellis in Asia Times.  It's about community versus greed, the subprime mortgage disaster under Bush, the Savings and Loan crisis under Reagan, and the movie, "It's A Wonderful Life," wrapped up in an excellent piece....a good way for the reader to ring out the old and ring in the new.

It would be especially interesting for those in their teens, but it is a great read for everyone.
