Republicans Help Corporate Cronies Destroy Appalachian Mountains
Repuglicans always take care of their corporate cronies, like the giant coal companies (Republicans' faithful high dollar donors) who have defaced the mountains and polluted the streams of Appalachia.
George the Shrub gave them carte blanche to plunder and destroy that beautiful area and its environment in order to make millions more in profit. But, as usual, he does it as sneakily as possible. The fewer who know, the less the outrage; add Bushite doublespeak language, and Bush the Hypocrite and the Republican party are never held accountable.
As Jim Hightower explains, "His office of surface mining quietly issued a new regulation that would allow King Coal to ravage the ancient mountains, glorious forests, and pure streams of Central Appalachia at will."
People in Appalachia have been fighting and, joined by others, continue to fight this heinous practice of mountain top removal.
To find out how to help grass roots activists in their struggle in the courts and Congress against corporate destruction of ancient mountains and polluting the streams, rivers, and the environment go to the Appalachian Center for the Economy and the Environment.
