Bushites Helped Create The Mortgage Crisis
On October 17, I posted a commentary titled, "Housing Crisis Hits Working Americans While Those Who Mess Up Our Economy Prosper" about the bursting housing bubble disaster, the ignored warnings, and the role of Bush and his flunkies in helping create another catastrophe. (Archives, October, 2007, on this site)
There's an article in the New York Times today, "Fed Shrugged As Subprime Crisis Spread" reporting about those wondering where Washington was in this spreading economic debacle. Get real! Washington was an integral cause of this crisis. It's another example of the Republican Bushite philosophy and method of operation at it finest...producing disastrous results for regular Americans while teflon Bushites continue merrily along. Where have these "questioners" been for the last seven years? On another planet?
Bush and his Republican "big government assistance like minimum or no taxes for the rich, you're on your own for everyone else" henchman have always aided and abetted greedy corporate cronies. Bushites helped their financial institution pals by omission, doing nothing, as they avariciously made fraudulent billions in a deliberately artificially inflated housing market loaded with unscrupulous lending practices. They helped create the mortgage crisis.
Another Republican president, Saint Ronnie the Hypocrite and his administration did something similar and helped cause the Savings & Loan debacle in the 1980's.
Alan Greenspan, former Federal Reserve chairman and Republican flunkie extraordinaire, played a key role in the mortgage crisis. He promoted adjustable rate mortgages that were risky and other highly levered ownership propositions. Greenspan is now trying to absolve himself by pointing the finger elsewhere, a hallmark of a true Bushite.
In the early 1970's, immediately after the Watergate scandal and Richard Nixon's resignation, a nightly news program ended by scrolling all the names of Nixon administration minions who were charged with "high crimes" and convicted, or otherwise involved in scandals. It kept rolling on and on and on. Bush and his administration's crimes and scandals keep rolling on and on and on and on.......as Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill keep impeachment off the table.
