Republican - The Party Of Torture
A bill banning waterboarding and limiting all US intelligence agencies, pointedly the CIA, to the interrogation techniques allowed in the Army's Field Manual was passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 222-199, mostly along party lines.
190 Republicans voted for torture....appalling, but not surprising. Like their leader, King George the Lesser, they trample the Constitution and dismiss human rights.
Perhaps these members of the torture club believe, like Senator Kit Bond (R-MO) that waterboarding is simply like swimming...freestyle, the backstroke or, believe as Rush Limbaugh does, that the torture at Abu Ghraib was just fraternity hazing. Perhaps they should all volunteer to be waterboarded and see how much fun it is. Such inhumane mental midgets! And these are United States representatives!
It is a measure of how low Bush/Cheney and these Bushite Republicans have brought this country, when the House of Representatives must pass a bill banning torture, especially by the CIA, to close a loophole the agency slipped through courtesy of George "Torquemada" Bush and his Inquisition cohorts.
Bush/Cheney and Bushite Republicans have damaged this country. The Constitution and its Bill of Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other laws that protect people from torture mean nothing to these promoters and supporters of torture, abuse, violence, authoritarianism and tyranny.
