Steny Hoyer and Dem Congressional Leaders Want More Blood On Their Hands

Feckless Democratic leaders in Congress like House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) have almost completed another appropriations bill "deal" for billions for the four year and counting Iraq occupation without any required troop withdrawal timeline.

If passed, this will be the third time that spineless Democratic majority leaders and their followers have caved to King George's imperial executive money demands for Iraq without attaching any requirements that the US end its occupation of Iraq with firm, expedient troop departure.

In baseball, three strikes and you're out.  Would that it were true of useless, cowardly Democrats like Hoyer and his ilk.

During the Vietnam War, Walter Cronkite, eminent CBS journalist and news anchor, reported that when he went to Vietnam he saw the "lies, corruption and stalemate" and it was time for the US to get out of that country. His report caused then President Lyndon Johnson to say, "If I've lost Cronkite, I've lost America."

This week, Mr. Cronkite wrote that it was time for the US to leave Iraq.  He said that this war had been "ill considered and poorly prosecuted" and Americans were against this war.  He ended his article with,
"Congress must act. Although Congress never declared war, as required by the Constitution, they did give the president the authority to invade Iraq. Congress must now withdraw that authority and cease its funding of the war.

"It is not likely, however, that Congress will act unless the American people make their voices heard with unmistakable clarity. That is the way the Vietnam War was brought to an end. It is the way that the Iraq War will also be brought to an end. The only question is whether it will be now, or whether the war will drag on, with all the suffering that implies, to an even more tragic, costly and degrading defeat. We will be a better, stronger and more decent country to bring the troops home now."
Are you listening, Democratic so-called leaders on Capitol Hill?  You now have the blood on your hands of some of those almost 4,000 dead US soldiers and thousands injured, many horribly, plus the increasing number of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis.  How can you sleep at night?  And you call yourselves leaders of the Democratic majority in Congress!
