Has Kucinich Traded His Bully Pulpit For Tinfoil Hat?
Elizabeth Kucinich seems to have started the ball rolling when she said that Dennis would absolutely consider Republican presidential candidate, Ron Paul, as a potential running mate. In New Hampshire, Dennis then followed up with ""I'm thinking about Ron Paul" as a running mate, Kucinich told a crowd of about 70 supporters at a house party here last week, "to balance the energies in this country."
While Mr. Paul is anti-Iraq war and pro-civil liberties, his stance on other issues should make him radioactive to any Democratic candidate and voter. Paul is against women's reproductive health rights; anti-worker; anti-union; anti-minimum wage; anti-gay; wants to: weaken Social Security by making it totally optional; repeal corporate regulatory laws such as the Sherman Anti-Trust Act; also wants progressive income taxes replaced by a flat tax for all; to repeal the estate tax; limit or repeal environmental laws such as Clean Air Act; etc. Ron Paul is a regressive, reactionary Republican.
If this is who Dennis Kucinich plans to consider as his running mate, the Democratic candidate has slipped the moorings of reality. He is making of joke of his previous principled stands and trading his bully pulpit for a tinfoil hat.
