Bush became president based on lies (and stolen elections) and the pattern has continued for the last seven years. Some falsehoods of this week: he lied about the environment and cheated for good measure, "Bush administration praises results of environmental programs it opposed;" he lies to veterans since there is very little progress at Walter Reed just as he has lied to them in the past -- cutting jobs at the VA, while threatening to veto increased funding for the VA; he lies via proxy about FISA and surveillance.

Bush has transferred to this country his lack of morality and credibility and his shameless hypocrisy which he clearly showed at the United Nations this week. He had the arrogance to lecture other countries about people suffering under dictatorships and authoritarian governments.  This from a president who unleashed a pre-emptive war, uses mercenaries to terrorize Iraqis, helped create the human rights violations of Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo, extraordinary renditions, etc.

And yet, Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says Bush will be held accountable, but impeachment is still off the table. 

Held accountable when? Held accountable how? While Bush may be a lame duck president, he can nevertheless inflict even more damage on the United States, Iraq and elsewhere.
